Immigration and Customs Enforcement Will Provide Hormone Treatment to Transgender Prisoners In Custody

In a move that is sure to outrage conservatives because of the combination of gayness and immigration, the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement included a provision in it’s revised Performance Based Detention Standards that requires officers to allow prisoners to continue hormone therapy if they were receiving the treatment before being taken into custody.

Baltimore County Councilman Tom Quirk will introduce legislation at the January 17 council meeting that will both gender identity and sexual orientation to the County’s existing anti-discrimination legislation.

I had no idea until last week that Wikileaks whistleblower Bradley Manning had expressed feelings about Gender Identity Disorder in his chats with Adrian Lamo. Now his lawyers are using it as a defense, and the story has blown up in the media.
